Ministry of Social Justice & Civic Engagement

Mission

The Ministry of Social Justice & Civic Engagement has the express charge to make manifest within and beyond the walls of the church Micah 6:8 and Isaiah 58:12c “…you shall be the repairer of the breach, restorer of the streets to live in.” Central to this ministry is its understanding of the historical tradition of Black Church activism, from slavery to present day, which recognizes the relationship between God and Justice. It is committed to engaging the intersection of faith and public life through community, government and private sector entities within the City of Baltimore and on the larger sociopolitical landscape as well as develops relationships with these varying entities. Social Justice is a Gospel Matter!
